Mufti of Muslims of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol Hadji Emirali Ablaev: “The blessed month of Ramadan has come!”

Dear fellow believers! Dear compatriots!

By the Will of Allah Almighty, the blessed month of Ramadan began with sunset! A month of goodness, spiritual cleansing, understanding your life, strengthening your faith and trust in the Creator!

It was in the holy month of Ramadan that the revelation of the Holy Quran and the messenger mission of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon Him) began. We are sincerely glad to celebrate the month that Muslims around the world look forward to all year long! Ramadan is the sultan of all months.

The Quran commands us: “In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful! O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you, just as it was prescribed for your predecessors, so perhaps you will be afraid” (Al-Baqarah (The Cow), verse 183).

Fasting is obligatory for Muslims. Fasting the month of Ramadan is a test of the strength of our faith, the mercy of our hearts, the purity of our thoughts and the nobility of our actions. Thinking about the huge reward for fasting, it always passes with ease.

The Almighty commanded us to be patient, strong and united. We must realize that every minute of Ramadan is priceless, which means that we have the power to live this time with full responsibility before Allah.

Remember that only by believing with all your heart, being sincere, and doing more good deeds, is it possible to earn the gates of Heaven. Only with great faith within is it necessary to worship and fast.

The month of Ramadan is also given to us to think and rethink our lives, to take the right path of correction. This is a time of reflection, diligence, humility and great generosity of the Creator!

I sincerely wish all my fellow believers to spend the good time of Ramadan in worshiping the Almighty, observing obligatory fasting and performing terawih prayer, as well as reading the Koran more and giving alms. May the Almighty help us to perform worship in the best possible way.

We must continually pray for our loved ones, for our people, for the entire Muslim community, for peace on earth. I wish that the month of Ramadan opens the doors of the mercy of the Almighty for all Muslims!

May we be destined to meet Eid al-Fitr together at the end of the fast and congratulate each other. May the Almighty accept our fasting, our prayers and good deeds!
