The Yalta prosecutor’s office supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a resident of the region. He was found guilty under Part 4 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of grievous harm to health, dangerous to human life, resulting in the death of the victim through negligence).
The court established that the defendant, together with his acquaintance, was in one of the rooms of the hostel located in Yalta. There was a conflict between the men, during which the defendant struck his opponent at least 5 times with a wooden block in the head and torso area. The victim died from his injuries— reported the prosecutor’s office.
The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the defendant to 6 years and 6 months in prison. He will serve his sentence in a maximum security penal colony. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
