In Yalta, the court delivered a verdict in a criminal case against a 54-year-old local resident. He was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 4 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, dangerous to human life, negligently resulting in the death of the victim).
In May this year, the defendant, while in his apartment, came into conflict with his acquaintance. During the quarrel, the man hit the opponent with a hunting knife, which he found in the room. The victim left the apartment and went to a store located nearby, from where he was taken to a healthcare facility. The man succumbed to his injuries despite treatment.— said the details in the prosecutor’s office.
The Yalta city court, agreeing with the position of the public prosecutor, sentenced the man to 7 years and 6 months in prison to be served in a strict regime correctional colony. Compensation for non-pecuniary damage in the amount of 5 million rubles has been recovered in favor of the relatives of the deceased. The verdict has not entered into force.
