Muslims of Crimea have a holiday — the new year 1446 according to the Hijri calendar has arrived

According to the Muslim calendar, the new year 1446 by Hijri began on July 7. The first month of the new year is the sacred and one of the four forbidden months — Muharram.

The Holy Quran says:

• “Verily, the number of months with Allah is twelve. Thus was it written in the Book on the day when Allah created the heavens and the earth. Four of them are sacred months. This is the right religion, so do not wrong yourselves therein…” (Surah «Repentance», 9/36). And in the saying of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s.) it is said: “Muharram is the best month to fast after the month of Ramadan.

The Mufti of the Muslims of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, Khadzhi Emirali Ablaev, congratulated all believers on the New Year according to Hijri:

We praise and thank the Almighty Creator for the opportunity to meet the new year in good health. During the month of Muharram, every Muslim should try to spend it in serving the Almighty Allah, make dua, avoid idle talk, conflicts, fast and do good deeds. I wish that Allah in the honorable month of Muharram forgives us our sins and grants us His mercy, well-being and peace.
