National Unity Day in Tauride Chersonese. Program of events

The Tauride Chersonese Museum-Reserve, the My History Foundation for the Support of Humanities and the Sevastopol Deanery invite everyone to the holiday “Unity is the Strength of Russia” on November 4.

On this day in Chersonesos you will be able to help the soldiers on the front line, take part in a charity fair and master classes, attend a thematic excursion, a painting exhibition and the “Art Unites” concert— note the press service of the Tauride Chersonese Museum-Reserve.

From 10:00 to 12:00 in the Byzantine courtyard The museum-reserve will begin holding useful master classes. Here you will be able to learn how to make trench candles, weave camouflage nets and prepare dry rations. As part of the “Letters to Heroes” project, everyone will write letters and prepare postcards to the fighters, congratulating them on National Unity Day and telling them how proud Russia and Sevastopol are of them. At the same time, a charity fair will be held in the Byzantine courtyard, the proceeds from which will go to support the humanitarian mission of the Sevastopol Deanery.

At 10:00 and 11:00, thematic excursions “Through the Pages of Great Victories” will be organized for visitors in a tent in the Garden of Miniatures. Participants will learn about the history of National Unity Day and the inextricable connection of the holiday with the day of remembrance of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God — the intercessor of the Russian land. The guides will captivate you with a story about the multinational population of the country, about ethnic traditions, beliefs and culture, as well as about the spiritual and moral values ​​and ideals common to each of us.

At the end of the holiday “Unity is the Strength of Russia,” guests of the museum-reserve will be treated to events dedicated to the “Night of the Arts” event. At 13:00 the pop and brass band of the Folk Art Center will perform at the Ancient Theater of Chersonesus with the program “Art Unites”. The musicians will perform long-familiar melodies and modern songs that have become hits. The artistic director and chief conductor of the orchestra is retired captain 1st rank, Honored Artist of Russia Igor Mikhailovich Knyazev. A concert by a group of professional musicians and solo vocalists will give guests bright emotions and create a festive atmosphere.

On November 4, visitors to Tauride Chersonesos will also be able to touch the beautiful and eternal at the “Ancient City” exhibition. The Byzantine courtyard will display the works of artists who participated in two autumn plein airs at the museum-reserve. On their canvases they depicted Chersonesos of the past, present and future, looking at its history through the prism of culture. The results of creative searches will be presented at the museum-reserve on National Unity Day to make a gift to Sevastopol residents and guests of the hero city.

You can visit the museum-reserve on National Unity Day only with tickets. We remind you that residents of Sevastopol have the right of free passage to the territory of Chersonesus Tauride (upon presentation of original documents confirming the presence of permanent or temporary registration in the hero city).
