On July 11, at 10:10, the operational duty shift of the Crisis Management Center of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the city of Sevastopol received information that an explosive object from the times of the Great Patriotic War was found near the village of Povorotnoye. Employees of the Specialized Detachment of the Emergency Department identified it as a German SC-50 aerial bomb. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the city of Sevastopol has been transferred to emergency mode. The dangerous area has been cordoned off.
It has been established that the condition and type of the fuse allow transportation. The find will be transported to a special range for subsequent destruction by controlled detonation. To develop a set of measures to ensure the safety of the population and infrastructure, as well as to coordinate the actions of the involved departments and services, a meeting of the Commission for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergencies and Ensuring Fire Safety of the City of Sevastopol is scheduled. The work of the operational headquarters was organized, the operational group of the Main Directorate was sent to the place— said the press service of the emergency department.
It is not yet known when exactly the operation to neutralize dangerous ammunition will take place.
