Nearly 100 people took part in the Nordic Walking Festival in Yalta

Last weekend at the stadium «Avangard» was held the municipal open Nordic Walking Festival «Autumn Promenade». It brought together about a hundred athletes from Yalta, Alushta, Simferopol, Sevastopol, Volgograd, Moscow and St. Petersburg. Children and adults in different age categories were allowed to start at different distances — from 400 to 2000 meters. The youngest participant is 8 years old, and the oldest one is 83 years old!
The event was organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Culture of the Yalta City Administration and the Federation of Nordic Walking of the Yalta City District, with the support of MBU DO «SSH-UTC «Avangard», the Voluntary Sports Union and the Yalta centralized club system. Before the start, everyone, together with the head of the sports and health club «ScandiYalta» Valentina Antonova, took part in the warm-up. Then there was a master class on the technique of Nordic walking, which was held by a special guest — an instructor from Volgograd Evgenia Bubnova. For everyone who wanted to try the technique of Nordic walking, the distance was 1200 meters. The most prepared passed 2000 meters. Children from 8 years old went to a distance of 400 meters— say the organizers of the event.
The most numerous and productive team was the Yalta residents — representatives of the Nordic walking club «ScandiYalta» branch No. 2 «Nikitsky Center of Culture» MBUK «Yalta Centralized Club System». In the future, the winners will take part in regional competitions in Simferopol.
