New energy substations will be built in Crimea as part of the modernization of the main infrastructure

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on the inclusion of measures for the construction of power grid facilities necessary for the energy supply of the Crimean peninsula, in a comprehensive plan for the modernization of the main infrastructure. This is reported on website Cabinet. As follows from the materials, we are talking about the construction in the Crimea within the framework of the federal project «Guaranteed supply of affordable electricity» of two substations: «Nakhimovskaya» and «Gas».
The capacity of the Nakhimovskaya substation will be 330/110 kV, it is planned to be built in Sevastopol between the existing Sevastopol substation and the concrete products plant.
The new grid complex will create additional opportunities for the operation of the Balaklava thermal power plant and will increase power transmission through the power grids of the peninsula— the press service of the Government of the Russian Federation reports.
The capacity of the Gasovaya substation will be 220 kV, it will become a key facility for power supply of the gas infrastructure of the peninsula and will allow stable gas supply not only to Crimea, but also to new regions.
Thanks to the operation of these substations, even with the growing consumption of electricity, the power supply of the Crimean peninsula will remain uninterrupted— emphasized in the Cabinet.
