New excursions in Chersonese will tell about Easter traditions

Folk games and acquaintance with the history of the main Christian holiday, painting of ginger eggs and meter-long coloring are waiting for the children in the cradle of Russian Orthodoxy — Tauric Chersonese. From April 7, special thematic excursions “Ready for the holiday!” will start in the museum-reserve. All of them are dedicated to the Bright Resurrection of Christ. — Easter.

Children will learn how Grand Duke Vladimir converted to the faith in 988 in Chersonese-Kherson-Korsun, see the supposed places of his baptism and see St. Vladimir Cathedral. The story about the history of its origin and Easter games, which will be so fun to play with friends, will help the children feel the atmosphere of the upcoming holiday. Among the folk amusements that will please even the smallest guests, there will be rolling painted eggs from the red hill, beating and spinning them, “Roll the testicle”, “Gate” and “Stop, don’t take it!”. Coloring meter-long drawings will help young visitors of the museum-reserve to show their creative abilities and raise the team spirit, and by painting a ginger egg, each child will create a sweet souvenir with their own hands, which can please themselves or loved ones.
