“New Year’s Billion” from “Russian Lotto”: the story of the winner — a millionaire from Crimea

CrimeaPRESS reports:

There are only a few weeks left until the New Year, which means that very soon, on January 1, 2024, the most long-awaited draw for Russian Lotto fans — the New Year’s Billion — will take place.

The New Year’s Russian Lotto draw is always awaited with special trepidation. This circulation annually gives its participants incredible emotions, and some of them — large cash prizes. In 2023, the total amount of winnings in the New Year’s Billion drawing was 2,524,046,635 rubles — this is a year’s record among all lotteries in Russia for the total amount of winnings in one draw. Thanks to the New Year’s edition of the Russian Lotto, Alexander Zemskov and his wife from Nizhny Novgorod won 1 billion rubles, and 75 more lottery millionaires appeared in the country,” notes the Stoloto press service.

One of the lucky ones who found themselves among the lottery millionaires of the 2023 New Year’s edition of the Russian Lotto was a resident of the Republic of Crimea. We managed to find out how her life changed after receiving her winnings.

From that very January 1st I began to believe in miracles“, emphasizes the lucky girl.

For some, participation in the “New Year’s Billion” is a tradition, but for Zhanna Kostyukova it is a lucky accident. On the first day of the New Year 2023, a resident of Crimea won 1,000,000 rubles in the 1,473rd draw of the Russian Lotto.

Almost a year after the coveted draw, the winner told how she lives as a lottery millionaire.

To be honest, life hasn’t changed much. I haven’t even spent all the money yet; part of the funds only went to household needs. I want to win again and fulfill one of my dreams, but for now I will keep it a secret. From that very January 1st, I began to believe in miracles! — Zhanna says with a smile.

The winner is not used to making plans for the future. She lives one day at a time: here and now. Zhanna can say the same about participating in the upcoming New Year’s “Russian Lotto” draw.

I will listen to my sixth sense. When my soul reaches out for tickets, then I’ll run and buy them at the Stoloto lottery kiosk. For me, participating in lotteries is an accident. Just like I bought that lucky ticket for a million. I wish good luck to all participants of the New Year’s Billion. Everyone wants to win: both lottery fans and rare participants like mesays Zhanna.

By the way, lottery participants from the Republic of Crimea are lucky in the New Year’s editions of the Russian Lotto. From 2019 to 2023, 8 residents of the region became lottery millionaires. And the total winnings of all participants in the region in the “New Year’s Billions” over five years amounted to almost 605,000,000 rubles.

New chance for a billion

On January 1, 2024, the traditional New Year’s draw will take place, in which more than 2,000,000,000 rubles will be raffled off. The main prize is 1,000,000,000 rubles. There is more than a 60% chance that it will go to one person, but it could also happen that it will be split equally between two or more winners.

A New Year’s Billion ticket is not just a lottery ticket for 150 rubles, it is a chance to win an impressive prize. “New Year’s Billion” from “Russian Lotto”, like all lottery draws distributed by “Stoloto”, is carried out under the control of an independent circulation commission, which monitors the fairness and transparency of the draw. Anyone can win, so don’t miss your chance to become the next millionaire this New Year!
