Many of us don’t think about protecting our bodies until we feel symptoms of the virus. And how disappointing it can be when illness comes on holidays — cough, chills, bed rest, instead of skiing through a snowy winter forest and gatherings at the New Year’s table.
And the threat of getting sick on New Year’s Eve is now quite real. The incidence of influenza and ARVI in Russia is on the rise. The peak of the epidemic is expected only after the New Year. For example, a large-scale study of EGIDA-2020, conducted during the pandemic in 17 regions of Russia, showed that its therapeutic use leads to a noticeable decrease in the duration of chills, weakness and cough, as well as intoxication and catarrhal syndromes.
In August 2023, the authoritative international specialized journal Immunity Inflammation and Diseases published a large article by Chinese specialists who analyzed all the data on the drug from information databases. Scientists, summarizing the accumulated information, came to the conclusion that umifenovir, being an etiotropic drug with direct antiviral action, effectively affects a variety of ARVI pathogens, in particular, influenza A and B viruses, as well as Omicron, one of the variants of which is Pirola » At the same time, it has a high level of safety and a low probability of resistance.
