New Year's exhibitions open tomorrow in Kerch

The exhibitions include rare Christmas tree decorations, winter landscapes, tapestries and panels.
On January 5, two festive exhibitions will open at the Kerch Art Gallery — “Carnival of New Year’s Toys” and “New Year’s Opening Day”. Visitors will see rare Christmas tree balls, beads and figurines, as well as winter paintings by contemporary artists.
As reported in the East Crimean Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve, at the first exhibition, guests will be presented with a unique collection of ancient New Year’s toys, including beads, multi-colored balls and intricate figures that used to decorate Christmas trees. Some products are over 100 years old. Retro postcards will also be shown. The exhibition will include more than 200 exhibits from different parts of the former Soviet Union.
For adults, the exhibition will give pleasant memories from childhood about the anxious anticipation of the holiday, and for young visitors it will allow them to get acquainted with the toys that delighted grandparents, fathers and mothers in their childhood. The exhibition will introduce visitors to the history of New Year’s toys and the tradition of decorating the holiday tree in our country.said the museum.
At the same time, new works by famous Kerch artists will be exhibited at the New Year’s Vernissage. This is reported Tourist portal of Crimea, winter landscapes, Christmas still lifes, abstract canvases, non-woven tapestries, decorative panels, sculptural compositions that convey the impression of the holiday. All works — and there will be more than 60 of them — were created specifically for the exhibition.
Both exhibitions will open on January 5 at 16:00. You can visit them until February 28.
