No need to leave money in the car, even if the car is in the yard of a private house. Case in the Saki region
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In the Saksky district, a suspect was detained in the theft of money from a car. It is interesting that everything spoke against such a crime: both the village, in which everything is in full view, and the private yard in which the car was standing … But the money left in the car became a temptation for the attacker. Stole … and got caught.
A 36-year-old resident of one of the villages in the Saki district turned to the duty unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Saksky”, who reported the theft of funds in the amount of 42 thousand rubles from a car. The man explained that he parked the car in the courtyard of his household, leaving the doors unlocked.
As a result of operational-search activities, the criminal investigation officers in hot pursuit detained the suspect, he turned out to be a 21-year-old resident of the Krasnogvardeisky district who had previously been repeatedly convicted— said the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
The detainee confessed to the police officers and explained that he had driven the applicant home and noticed how the victim, in order to pay him, took out money from his car parked in the yard. Some time later, he returned to the man’s house, secretly entered his yard and stole through the unlocked car doors.
The attacker managed to spend the money for his own needs. The investigator of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia «Saksky» initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“theft”). The sanction of the article provides for punishment of up to 5 years in prison.
Police officers remind: it is necessary to take care of the safety of your property in advance so that it is not stolen. Do not leave the car doors open, and do not leave money in the car.
