In Sevastopol, police detained a suspect in the theft of a smartphone and money from a local resident. The nuance of the story — the victim slept … on the street. It’s just that the drunk city dweller didn’t have enough strength to get home.
In the early morning, the attacker took advantage of the helpless state of the man and robbed him , the police said. — 42-year-old resident of Sevastopol, being in a state of intoxication, fell asleep near one of the shops in the Gagarinsky district. The sleeping man was noticed by a passer-by and he had a criminal intent. After making sure that no one was watching his actions, he secretly pulled out a mobile phone and a bank card from the pocket of the victim’s shorts. Having discovered that the smartphone was protected by a fingerprint, the attacker tried to unlock the device, but he did not succeed, and he fled. The suspect sold the stolen smartphone to a pawnshop, and with the help of a stolen bank card he paid for the purchase for two thousand rubles.
As a result of operational-search activities, the criminal investigation department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Gagarinsky district detained the suspect. As it turned out, the -year-old detainee was released from prison only a month ago, where he was serving a criminal sentence for robbery.
As the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol clarifies, criminal cases have been initiated against the defendant under paragraphs “d” of parts 2 and 3 of the article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Theft). The attacker faces up to 6 years in prison.
