Novosibirsk — market, station and Fedorova bathhouse… On a trip to the main city of Siberia
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Tourist trip to Novosibirsk — what is this city famous for and what to see? Let’s say right away that the expression “Novosibirsk is a bazaar, a train station and a Fedorov bathhouse” is not an “invention” at all. About a hundred years ago this Siberian city was generally characterized this way. And even today history experts say so. This is a reference to the famous public bathhouse, built here at the beginning of the 20th century on the initiative of local entrepreneur Alexander Fedorov. The bathhouse has long been a popular place for city residents to meet, communicate and relax. But, by the way, even though times are different now, baths in Novosibirsk are still very popular holiday destinations, colorful and original and for every taste. With pools, plunge pools, brooms or dry steam — traditional saunas are also a popular story here.
What else is modern Novosibirsk famous for? Where you should definitely visit:
- Akademgorodok: it is a scientific center where numerous scientific institutes and universities are located.
- Zoo: The Novosibirsk Zoo is famous for its large collection of animals and active scientific activities.
- Oktyabrskaya Square and pedestrian street Krasny Prospekt: These are the central places of the city where you can enjoy architecture, shops and restaurants.
- Novosibirsk State Museum: it offers fascinating exhibits on the history and culture of the region.
- Opera and Ballet Theatre: This is the cultural heart of the city, where you can enjoy high-quality performances.
Let us also note this fact: Novosibirsk actively figures among the popular cities when it comes to celebrating the New Year. But what about it? This is Siberia! Real winter, which, in fact, provides that New Year’s magic.
Several factors that can make a New Year’s trip to Novosibirsk interesting:
- celebration atmosphere: The city is traditionally decorated very colorfully for the holidays. The streets are “dressed” in garlands of light, decorated with fir trees and New Year’s installations.
- holiday events? The most varied. These include concerts, enchanting performances in the spirit of “lochka-burn!”, and mass celebrations.
- Traditional customs: in Novosibirsk you can get acquainted with traditional Russian New Year customs.
- Specific climate: Novosibirsk is located in Siberia, so a truly winter atmosphere with snow and frost is, of course, guaranteed.
However, it is worth remembering that temperatures in winter in Novosibirsk can be quite low, and you should be prepared for cold weather. By the way, the baths here are definitely a help — from the snow to warm baths with brooms and steam… Isn’t this a magical New Year’s fairy tale? But Novosibirsk residents always warn: when it comes to holiday dates, you should book baths in advance. The place, you know, is very popular for spending free time.
