Official: Cash loans decline for third month in a row

The United Credit Bureau (UCB) summed up the results of citizens’ credit activity in November 2023.
Cash loans declined for the third month in a row. In November 2023, they decreased by 14%, the number of loans issued — by 8%. During the month, 2.81 million cash loans were issued for 505.57 billion rubles, a month earlier – 3.04 million loans for 589.17 billion rubles. The average bill for the month decreased by 7%: from 194 to 180 thousand rubles. On an annual basis, new cash loans also fell by 14%, while the number increased by 18%. In November last year, 2.39 million loans worth 585.17 billion rubles were issued. The average bill for the year fell by 27%: from 245 thousand rubles.
In terms of the volume of cash loans issued, the top five leading regions in November included: Moscow — 175.42 thousand loans worth 52.52 billion rubles, Moscow region. – 161.41 thousand loans for 38.73 billion rubles, St. Petersburg – 84.64 thousand loans for 23.01 billion rubles, Krasnodar Territory – 112.70 thousand loans for 21.53 billion rubles. and Sverdlovsk region – 94.66 thousand loans for 16.28 billion rubles.
In all regions from the TOP-30 for issuing cash loans, there is a decline in their volumes and quantity. The highest rates of decline in lending volumes in November were recorded in the Belgorod and Kemerovo regions — by 18%, while the number of loans decreased in the Belgorod region. by 7%, in Kemerovo — 8%.
In most regions from the TOP-30 there is a decrease in the average size of cash loans. The exception was the Chelyabinsk region. and Primorsky Krai, in which the average cash loan amount increased by 2% and 1%, respectively. The largest cash loans were taken out in November by residents of Moscow — on average almost 300 thousand rubles, St. Petersburg — 272 thousand rubles, Moscow region. – 240 thousand rubles, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – 229 thousand rubles. and Novosibirsk region. – 203 thousand rubles
