Official: in Crimea, the harvest fully ensures food security

Regarding standard activities for agriculture, be it harvesting or sowing: the Republic of Crimea always proceeds at the required pace, depending on the climate and the crops that we need to sow. There are no problems. This year’s harvest completely covers the republic in terms of food security, be it grains or fruits and vegetableshe said.

Kratyuk noted that the region is now planning to develop the processing of harvested crops.

We really have now reached some points where we already need processing, that is, in addition to the fact that we produce a lot, we really now have to preserve it all, process it and deliver either for our guests or to the mainland the products that we can only we producehe added.

Kratyuk also said that, despite the difficult geopolitical situation, Crimea is trying to establish export supplies outside the Russian Federation.

We still see for ourselves the colossal scale of exports to China and India, because we have crops that are in demand there and we would really like to see them there, but we need a certain lobbyist for some organization to introduce us there. That is <...> the logistics chain must be clearly built, — he said.

According to the minister, now the main task is to make supply channels and logistics as simple and understandable as possible for local manufacturers.

We have enterprises that are working in this direction, bringing quality standards, bringing product standards to those required by that side. Every consumer has his own criteria [к продукции] — he wants to see it in a certain package, with a certain frequency, with a certain, perhaps, chemical composition, that is, we must provide products that will be interesting,” said Kratyuk.

The Russian agricultural exhibition takes place in Moscow from October 9 to 12 at the Timiryazev Center educational and exhibition complex on the basis of the Timiryazev Academy.
