Official: in the first four months of 2024, over seven thousand crimes were registered in Crimea

As of the beginning of May, 7.4 thousand crimes were registered in Crimea. The Republican Prosecutor’s Office reports this.

There has been a decrease in the number of crimes in public places (-17.5%), including on the streets, squares, parks, squares (-25.2%), as well as those committed under the influence of alcohol (-3%), drugs and toxic substances (-50%) intoxication. The number of crimes committed by previously convicted persons also decreased (-8.6%)— the supervisory authority calculated.

Fewer particularly serious (-6%) and grave (-4.6%) crimes were committed, including murders (-18.5%) and rapes (-66.7%).

Law enforcement agencies identified 636 crimes in the field of drug trafficking, including 382 facts of their sale. The detection rate for these crimes was 77.7%, and for sales – 58.9%.

In Crimea, 3.6 thousand crimes against property were registered (3,589), the detection rate of which was 60.9%.

It should be noted that on the territory of the Republic the number of registered thefts (-6.4%), robberies (-33.8%), robberies (-41.7%), and cases of illegal seizure of a vehicle (-42.2%) decreased.,” the prosecutor’s office clarified.

The number of crimes related to traffic violations decreased by 15.4% (from 91 to 77).
