Official: price declines were recorded in Crimea in April
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Inflation in Crimea fell for the fifth month in a row in April. There was more meat and vegetables in the markets, which curbed price increases.
The rise in prices for meat products slowed down due to an increase in the production of pork and chicken meat. Their supplies from other regions of the country have also increased. Agreements between the regional authorities and retailers on a zero markup on socially important goods also helped. In annual terms, cabbage fell in price, and onions, potatoes and cucumbers fell in price faster than in March. This is largely due to the increase in supplies of imported vegetables. State support for regional producers also had an impact— note the press service of the Branch for the Republic of Crimea of the Southern Main Directorate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
The rise in rental prices has accelerated due to increased demand. The latter also allowed suppliers and manufacturers to pass on increased logistics and labor costs into prices. As a result, price increases for furniture and electrical goods accelerated.
Inflation in Crimea in April amounted to 6.6% after 7.3% in March 2024.
