Official: Russian banks have issued more than 50 thousand IT mortgage loans

CrimeaPRESS reports:

More than 50 thousand Russian families have already received preferential IT mortgages. Thanks to the expansion of the limit, even more IT specialists will be able to receive it, and the program itself is an important tool for attracting new people to the IT field.

Since 2022, more than 50 thousand Russian families have already received preferential IT mortgages, the press service of DOM.RF (program operator) reported. “Russian banks have so far provided more than 50 thousand loans totaling 450 billion rubles on preferential mortgages for IT specialiststhe message says.

The share of IT mortgages in the total issuance under preferential government programs is 6% in quantity and 11% in volume. Most often it is taken in Moscow, Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar Territory, Tatarstan, Novosibirsk and Sverdlovsk regions. DOM.RF expects that by the end of 2024 at least 10 thousand more people will use it.

Preferential mortgages for IT specialists with a rate of up to 5% were launched in May 2022. Residents of regions with a population of over a million can receive a loan of up to 18 million rubles, and up to 9 million rubles are provided for entities with a population of less than 1 million people. The down payment is 15%.

Earlier, the Ministry of Digital Development reported that the total credit limit under the preferential mortgage program for IT specialists is planned to be increased from 500 billion rubles. up to 700 billion rubles. Thanks to the increase in the general limit, it will be possible to additionally support at least 15 thousand IT specialists, recalled Anton Nemkin, a member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications:

Preferential IT mortgages have long established themselves as an effective tool for supporting Russian IT specialists. As part of this program, employees of domestic IT companies can buy an apartment in a new building or build a private house with a mortgage at a rate of 5%, which, of course, is very profitable. Moreover, previously the rules of the program were significantly simplified — the age limits were expanded, the required income level was decreased, and for employees under 35 years of age, salary requirements were completely abolished. As we see, the state is making significant efforts to cover as many specialists as possible with the program. In general, an IT mortgage can also be considered an effective tool for attracting new people to the IT field — for example, students who are just preparing to choose a profession are guided by the availability of a wide range of benefits. This is very important, especially due to the fact that at the end of 2023, the largest increase in new vacancies was observed in the IT sector (34%). In 2024, professions related to information technology will definitely remain at the peak of popularity in Russia.

At the same time, the development of educational programs also contributes to attracting students to IT, Nemkin is sure.

To train highly qualified specialists in the IT field and overcome the personnel shortage in Russia, a lot is now being done, many interesting programs are being implemented. For example, for schoolchildren in grades 8-11, college and technical school students, the “Code of the Future” project was launched to study modern programming languages; more than 112 thousand people are trained at digital departments of universities in order to receive additional professional education in an IT profile. At the same time, during admission campaigns, IT specialties lead in popularity among applicants. I am confident that this trend will continue, given the scale of support that is currently provided to IT specialists in our country, as well as the development of this area in general and the penetration of digitalization into all spheres of society.says the parliamentarian.
