Official: suspect in road accident that killed children has been placed under arrest

The suspect in the road accident, which resulted in the death of teenagers, was given a preventive measure in the form of detention. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Crimea. About this terrible accident — HERE.

The Nizhnegorsky District Prosecutor’s Office supported the investigator’s request to select a preventive measure in the form of detention in relation to a resident of the region. According to the investigation, on October 27, 2024, a man, driving a Skoda car, was driving along the Nizhnegorsky — Belogorsk highway. By not choosing a safe speed, he caused a collision with vehicles carrying four teenagers, born in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Three young men died from their injuries, another was taken to a healthcare facility— reported the supervisory agency.

The suspect was identified and detained jointly by employees of the internal affairs bodies and the Investigative Committee. The court chose a preventive measure against the man in the form of detention for a period of 2 months. The criminal investigation continues.
