Officially: fares affected inflation in Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Under the influence of growing costs of greenhouse farms, reduced supply of vegetables and indexation of travel in urban transport, annual inflation in the hero city amounted to 12.6%. It is ahead of the national average (11.8%) and the Southern Federal District (11.6%).
In the food sector, the annual growth rate of prices was 11.5%. The costs of agricultural enterprises for heating and lighting greenhouses grew against the backdrop of a rise in electricity prices. This was reflected in the price of tomatoes and cucumbers. But a good grain harvest in 2022 helped reduce the costs of processors, and as a result, buckwheat groats fell more in price.
The increase in prices for industrial goods in annual terms in Sevastopol remained almost unchanged compared to December 2022. Restrained consumer demand continued to slow down the rise in prices for new passenger cars. In January, supply of electronics and household appliances increased against the backdrop of establishing supply chains. Together with weak demand, this contributed to a slowdown in annualized growth in prices for electrical and household goods, and the cost of televisions and personal computers fell faster than a year earlier.
In the services sector, annual inflation was 9.7% in January after 8.8% in December 2022. The main reason for the acceleration is the increase in the cost of travel in urban passenger transport. Recall that the previous indexation was carried out in the region in October 2021.
