CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, in his Telegram channel shared some details of the work to preserve historical and cultural monuments in Crimea.
In total, there are more than 5.3 thousand objects of cultural and archaeological heritage in the republic. As the Head of Crimea emphasized, many of them are known far beyond Russia, and the preservation of the country’s national heritage, history and memory is among the key tasks of the authorities.
Thus, one of the most important projects is the restoration, repair, equipment and creation of a new exhibition of the A.S. Museum. Pushkin in Gurzuf. The work is being carried out as part of the implementation of the decree of President Vladimir Putin on the 225th anniversary of the birth of the great poet.
The total cost of the project is 306.9 million rubles. It includes not only repairs, restoration and replacement of communications, but also the acquisition of new collections, increasing the exhibition space, creating conditions for research activities, as well as opportunities for organizing traveling exhibitions on the territory of the museum. Much attention is paid to recreating the historical appearance of the building, interiors and atmosphere of the period when the great Russian poet stayed here. For this purpose, historical documents were used, – the press service quotes the Head of the Republic.
To date, repair and restoration work has been completed. The museum’s exhibition space is being re-exposed. The new exhibition “Pushkin and Crimea” will be located in seven exhibition halls on the second floor and will include 15 thematic sections. It will be based on items from the main and scientific-auxiliary funds, lifetime publications by A.S. Pushkin, the poet’s manuscripts with Crimean themes, reproduced on paper of that time, furniture and decorative items of the 18th–19th centuries, artistic and graphic works.
In addition, large-scale repair and restoration work continues at the Khan’s Palace in Bakhchisarai. At the moment, 12 of the 16 objects of the ensemble have been completed or are in a high degree of readiness.
