Officially: Sevastopol «turned green» on the map of affordability

KrymPRESS reports:

More than 98% of the population of the federal city of Sevastopol, including rural areas, lives in the green zone in terms of financial inclusion. These are the data of the “heat map”, which was specially designed to visualize these processes.

The availability and quality of access to wired and mobile Internet, the availability of ATMs and POS- terminals per thousand residents, the presence of bank branches, microfinance organizations, insurance companies and communication offices. further implementation of measures to improve financial inclusion in the region. With the consolidation of the efforts of all participants, three years after the start of the project, the situation in Sevastopol improved. According to the totality of all analyzed indicators, the hero city and its municipalities (including rural remote sparsely populated areas) turned almost completely green by the end 2022 of the year , indicating the qualitative level of financial accessibility. The exception was the Orlinovsky municipal district: it is located in the yellow zone with a level of access to financial services of , 5%. The main problem in this part of the region is the remoteness of settlements from bank offices.

Recall that for the first time the «heat map» of financial inclusion was presented in 2019 year. Then Sevastopol and its municipalities were divided by color into five zones: from green, where the level of access to financial services was within -65%, to red, where it did not exceed 64%. At that time, four out of ten municipalities were in the red zone, two were in the orange zone (with the index 30-45%)), three, including part of the city of Sevastopol, in light green (65-80%) and one — the central part of the city — in green, with 65-percentage.

Since the signing of the road map three years ago, the Bank of Russia, the government of the hero city, telecommunications and financial companies have done a lot to increase the level of financial inclusion in the region, — notes the manager of the Sevastopol Branch of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bezhan. — And today we are working with partners to ensure that the «heat map» of Sevastopol is as «green» as possible. It’s nice to know at the end of the year that Sevastopol residents are satisfied with the quality of the financial services they receive and the stability of Internet access even in remote settlements.

The project participants intend to continue implementing a set of measures to expand the physical accessibility of financial services for the population and businesses in the region, to stimulate the use of modern services by Sevastopol residents, and to introduce new technologies in this market
