Officially: the number of counterfeit banknotes has significantly decreased in Sevastopol

According to the results of the last year in the banking sector of Sevastopol identified 51 counterfeit banknotes of the Bank of Russia. This is 31 units less than in 2021. As before, the most popular denomination among counterfeiters is five-thousandth banknotes, 43 units were found during the year.

It is necessary to check at least three or four security features of banknotes. In any case, it is impossible to pay with a dubious bill, it must be transferred for examination to a commercial bank— quotes the press service of the Deputy Governor of the Branch for the city of Sevastopol of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation Vitaly Sidorenko.

During this period, 13 counterfeit banknotes of foreign countries were also found, including 11 banknotes with a face value of 100 US dollars. Recall that in 2021, 2 counterfeit hundred dollar bills were identified.
