Officially: tree pruning in Simferopol was carried out incorrectly

The prosecutor’s office revealed numerous violations during the implementation of sanitary pruning of trees in Simferopol, in the park named after T.G. Shevchenko. About the complaints of townspeople about this “barbaric pruning” — HERE.

The Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Crimea conducted an inspection of compliance with the requirements of environmental legislation in connection with numerous complaints from citizens regarding the sanitary pruning of trees in the park named after T.G. Shevchenko in the city of Simferopol.

It was established that the city administration carried out the events with numerous violations of the requirements of the law. In particular, when pruning trees, their species characteristics are not taken into account, including the shape of the crown and the ability to withstand pruning. There are discrepancies between the information included in the commission inspection report and the data on green spaces that have been pruned. In addition, not all trees needed height control, crown formationsays the press service of the Crimean prosecutor’s office.

In connection with the identified violations, the prosecutor’s office submitted a proposal to the head of the local administration, which, as specified, “is under consideration.”
