A surviving crocodile was found under the rubble of the fire-damaged Tropicpark in Yevpatoria. Exotarium director Dmitry Kasperovich told KP-Crimea about this. According to him, the reptile was found on the second day, when the water in the aquarium was drained. The crocodile managed to survive thanks to the ability to hold its breath for a long time under water.

He didn’t fall over, although there were many chances for this to happen. When reinforced concrete and everything else fell from above, he hid under the island and thanks to this he remained alive. He lay down under the water and hid. Due to the large volume of water, it did not have time to boilsaid the head of Tropicpark.

The surviving reptile, named Vasya, is 17 years old. Tropicpark employees did not transfer the crocodile to the zoo. He is now in a safe location on private property.
