On April 10, the Chekhov House-Museum in Yalta will celebrate its 103rd birthday

This year, the main festive events on the occasion of the birthday of the Yalta House-Museum of Anton Chekhov will be held on April 10. So tomorrow, visitors will be in for a pleasant surprise — they will be able to attend the author’s excursion for free, see unique paintings and graphic works at the exhibition “Chekhov’s Artists” and enjoy the works of the writer.
This year marks 103 years since, in 1921, the writer’s sister and at the same time the first director of the museum, Maria Pavlovna Chekhova, received a safe conduct, and the writer’s house received the status of a state museum— reminds Tourist portal of Crimea.
On April 10, the management of the Yalta House Museum makes a gift to all fans of the work of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov. Events in honor of the birthday of the cultural institution known as Belaya Dacha will begin with a vernissage of children’s drawings «Yalta — the city of Chekhov.» There will also be a themed photo zone for guests near the writer’s house. An author’s tour of the memorial garden, which is turning 125 years old, will be held for everyone at 12:30.
At 14:30 in the literary exhibition hall there will be a presentation of the exhibition “Chekhov’s Artists”. The new exhibition project will open for guests another facet of the talent of the great playwright’s large family, represented by several generations. Visitors will be able to see unique paintings and graphic works created at different times by representatives of the Chekhov family, as well as their personal belongings, archival photographs and other valuable artifacts.
At 15:00, students of the Yalta Children’s Art School will take part in plein air in the garden of eternal spring at the Belaya Dacha. And the festive program will end at 16:00 in the virtual concert hall of the museum with a broadcast of the works of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov performed by the master of artistic expression, laureate of the All-Russian Pushkin Competition of artist-readers Vladimir Zavyalov.
