On August 11, two accidents occurred at Cape Fiolent (Sevastopol)
CrimeaPRESS reports:
On August 11, two accidents occurred within 2 hours of each other in Sevastopol on the rocks near the wild beach «Bounty» on Cape Fiolent:
- At 6:39 a.m., information was received that a 35-year-old man had sustained a leg injury. Rescuers transported him from a steep slope to an ambulance.
- At 8:42 am, eyewitnesses reported to emergency services that another man had fallen from a cliff in the same area – unfortunately, the injuries were incompatible with life.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry for Sevastopol reminds that on rocks and in the mountains it is prohibited to:
- approach the cliffs;
- move along steep, precipitous and loose paths;
- take photos and selfies at risk to life;
- enter caves, engage in rock climbing without special equipment and training;
- be on landslide-prone banks, under them, and in areas where rockfall is possible;
- drink alcohol.
IMPORTANT: If you are planning a hike rather than a walk, register on the website of the Russian Emergencies Ministry (https://forms.mchs.gov.ru/registration_tourist_groups)!
