On August 8, the strongest magnetic storm in the last two months will fall on the ground
Krympress reports:
According to scientists, a large solar flash of level M4.4, which occurred on August 5, will cause strong geomagnetic consequences on Earth. The latest calculations showed that the planet will be touched by a high -speed cloud core, and a blow to the magnetic field can be much stronger than previously expected.
The arrival of plasma to the ground is expected tomorrow, on the 8th, about 7 am Moscow time. At the time of the blow, the growth of the geomagnetic index of KP to the value of 6 is predicted, which is the biggest value, starting from June 13, when the storm of this level was last registered by the last time— noted in the laboratory.
Such storms are considered medium, but they are able to affect energy systems and influence the spread of radio waves.
Scientists also warned that the geomagnetic situation would begin to deteriorate on the night of Thursday to Friday, when the Earth enters the zone of action of another large coronal hole. The geomagnetic background will sharply worsen for almost a week.
The clarifying forecast will be made later.
