On Defender of the Fatherland Day, Sergei Aksyonov laid flowers at the Eternal Flame memorial
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, took part in the flower-laying ceremony at the Eternal Flame memorial at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the park named after. Yu.A. Gagarin in the city of Simferopol. Those present at the event honored the memory of the fallen soldiers with a minute of silence. Then, the orchestra of military unit 6917 of the Federal Service of the National Guard of the Russian Federation performed the national anthems of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Crimea.
According to Sergei Aksenov, Defender of the Fatherland Day is one of the main holidays that reminds people of the heroic history of the Russian Armed Forces, the glorious victories of Russian weapons, military valor and selfless love for the Motherland.
This is a holiday of patriots. Even today, our soldiers who are participating in a special military operation are moving forward under enemy fire, solving combat missions, and step by step bringing our common Victory closer. This is clear evidence of the inextricable connection and continuity of generations. The descendants of the victors are fighting modern Nazism, confronting those forces that always wanted to destroy Russia– the press service quotes the Head of Crimea.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District Kirill Stepanov, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea Yuri Gotsanyuk, Head of the Office of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol Leonid Mikhailyuk, Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Efim Fiks, representatives of the security forces structures, law enforcement agencies and the public, veterans, others.
