On May 6, in Khersones Tauride, they present the exhibition «Far Echo of the Great War»
Krympress reports:
The new exhibition will be devoted to the tragic events related to the occupation of Chersonesos by German troops, and as the museum team, under the leadership of S.F. Strazheletsky, A.K. Takhtai, and I.D. Maksimenko, did everything possible to save museum values.
A special exhibit of the exhibition will be a unique find, discovered during security work in the territory of the Chersonesos settlement in 2024. We are talking about a “wall-class”-a building folded from objects that were listed irrevocably lost during the war. These findings, returned from oblivion after 80 years, symbolize the triumph of justice and recall the importance of preserving the historical heritage.
The exhibition will present objects found on the territory of the museum and settlement, which indicate severe trials that fell to the share of Chersonesos during the years of occupation. In archival photographs, spectators will be able to see traces of destruction, as well as artifacts saved due to the dedication of the museum employees.
The distant echo of the Great War ”is not only a tribute to the heroes of the past, but also a reminder of the importance of maintaining historical truth and respect for the feat of those who defended our homeland. The exhibition based on documentary evidence and personal stories allows each visitor to “hear” the echo of war and to realize the greatness of the feat of the Chersonesos heroes.
