On Primorsky Boulevard Sevastopol, historical masonry was faced with granite. Historians are disappointed
Krympress reports:
The historical wall of the former children’s beach on Primorsky Boulevard during the repair was laid with gray polished granite. This outraged the Sevastopol historian Stepan Samoshin. He wrote about what happened in the Telegram channel «Architecture of Sevastopol», calling a new appearance of the retaining wall with grayness and lawlessness, aggressively opposing history and beauty.
To confirm his words, S. Samoshin brought a photo of the walls after repair, the appearance of which causes him associations with an underpass or with a public toilet.
According to S. Samoshin, such disrespect for Primorsky Boulevard is especially unacceptable in the year of his 140th anniversary.
With what care he was created 140 years ago! It was a landscape park, where all the improvement seemed to “grow” from the natural environment — a wall of local stone, alpine slides, and bends of paths. The reconstruction of 2008 began to wash this image with its inappropriate concrete tiles with a geometric pattern and a disproportionate fountain of gray polished granite,-quoted the historian-local historian «Sevastopol newspaper».
He also has no doubt that it was not by chance that a part of the Boulevard was deprived of the status of the OKN (cultural heritage object), thereby violating federal legislation, according to which “the subject of protection of the historical settlement of federal significance Sevastopol is (in the central part of the city)“ missile detour -shutdown walls, including their location, spatial and constructive solution, dimensions, architectural characteristics, material and The nature of the processing. «
At the same time, he recalled that the retaining wall under the “heel” with a sunny clock was composed precisely from a missile stone. From 1885 to 2008, the wall remained not plastered. In 2008, it was plastered and painted white, it remained so until the repair of 2024.
According to the local historian, the wall was never lined with granite and what was done with it was a direct violation of the Ministry of Culture of the historical settlement.
The reconstruction project of the embankment of the retaining wall at a sunny clock is called PSM11, and in the expert opinion to the project, in particular, it is said that “the project does not provide for the retaining walls PSM11-PSM14— S. Samoshin insists.
Thus, it remains unclear on what basis the wall was lined with granite. The author of the post addressed such a question in the format of circulation by the north, the Ministry of Culture, the Governor of Sevastopol, as well as the city prosecutor’s office.
It is interesting that the chief engineer of the contractor of the Sevoproektmontazh LLC Sergey Timofeev during the repair of the embankment to the question of the Sevastopol newspaper, why they do not save and do not recreate historical Butova masonry, explained this to its poor physical condition, they say, to preserve and even recreate the wall not succeeded.
This site is also faced with granite slabs. So it will be more beautiful— the builder argued then.
As it turned out, not all Sevastopol residents share his opinion.
