On Saturday, a motorcycle rally in honor of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Crimea starts from Sevastopol.

On April 13, a motorcycle rally dedicated to the liberation of the peninsula from the Nazi invaders will depart from Sevastopol. According to Tourist portal of Crimeathe participants of the motorcycle rally will travel along the western coast, stop in the center of the peninsula and finish the journey at the 58th kilometer of the Simferopol-Evpatoria highway near the monument to the paratroopers of 1942.

The patriotic motorcycle rally starts from Sevastopol at 11:00. Participants will go to the village of Gvardeyskoye, Simferopol region, where they are scheduled to visit the mass grave of Soviet soldiers who died on the outskirts of Simferopol in April 1944. Then the movement of troops of the 4th Ukrainian Front towards the Nazi group in the area of ​​​​the village of Sarabuz (now Gvardeyskoye) was stopped by enemy fire, however, despite the resistance of German-Romanian units, our troops broke through the defenses and on April 13, 1944 liberated Simferopol from the invaders. The next place where the patriotic motorcycle rally will stop will be the memorial complex in honor of nine Heroes of the Soviet Union in the village of Heroyskoye, Saki region. The remains of soldiers from the 3rd Guards Motorized Engineering and 91st Motorcycle Battalions of the 19th Perekop Red Banner Tank Corps are buried here. On April 13, 1944, when the Nazis were retreating from Crimea, it became known about their concentration near the Simferopol-Evpatoria highway. Nine scouts went to find out the location of the enemy and took fire from a company of Nazis. By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 16, 1944, all nine participants in the unequal battle were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. At 14:30 the motorcycle rally will go to the final point — the mass grave of the participants of the 1942 Evpatoria landing at the 58th kilometer of the Simferopol — Evpatoria highway. Those gathered will lay flowers in memory of the heroic battle of the tactical landing force, which, on a cold, stormy day, attempted to launch an offensive deep into the peninsula. This event, which happened on the night of January 5-6, became one of the significant ones for Yevpatoria, which was awaiting liberation from the Nazis. Patrol boats and the minesweeper “Vzryvatel” took part in the large-scale military operation. A tragic fate awaited the sailors. The bodies of the victims were buried on January 7, 1942 on the shore. On June 7, 1970, a memorial to the paratrooper heroes appeared here. The approximate time for laying flowers at the monument is at 15:00.
