On the eve of the fire season, Crimean rescuers conducted a preventive raid in Alushta
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Crimean rescuers, on the eve of the fire season, which starts on April 1, are carrying out a set of preventive measures aimed at preventing fires in the ecosystems of the peninsula.
The main goal is to check compliance with fire safety requirements on the territory of the forest fund, as well as settlements directly bordering them, and as a result, exposed to the threat of forest fires— reported the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea.
On the peninsula, 450 settlements are in potential danger in the event of forest or landscape fires. To prevent trouble, supervisory officers carry out preventive work with owners of land plots, dacha cooperatives, and gardening partnerships.
On the land plots of the Alushta essential oil state farm-plant, bordering on a forest, employees of the emergency department checked the quality and timeliness of fulfillment of the requirements: timely removal of dry vegetation, garbage, grass mowing, creation of mineralized strips on the border of the forest.
The presence of mineralized strips around populated areas and farmland on the border with forest areas is one of the main requirements for ensuring fire safety in the spring and summer. These artificial barriers can stop the spread of fire, and are necessary in places where there are no natural barriers, such as roads or bodies of water.noted the emergency department.
Crimean rescuers and forest control officers checked compliance with the requirements for clearing land plots of dry vegetation, garbage and other flammable materials, as well as compliance with fire safety requirements when burning garbage and dry grass, and also distributed information leaflets.
