On the eve of the holiday season, about 2,000 payment terminals were installed in Crimean retail outlets

RNKB Bank notes an active demand among Crimean entrepreneurs for the installation of payment terminals in retail outlets before the start of the holiday season. In April and May of this year, the bank installed about 2 thousand terminals, thus, the total number of devices for paying for purchases with bank cards in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol today is more than 45 thousand devices. According to the bank, in April-May 2022, the volume of non-cash payments in the network of RNKB pos-terminals increased by more than 20% compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to about 38 billion rubles. Most of the payments are made using cards of the national payment system «Mir», while 93% of payments are made in a contactless way.

Residents and guests of the peninsula can make purchases and pay for services by bank transfer both in small retail outlets and in the largest supermarkets of Crimea, as well as in pharmacies, gas stations, household and construction equipment stores, etc. In addition, active demand is still popular is the installation of payment terminals in self-service devices — coffee vending machines, parking meters, self-service car washes, etc. Since the beginning of the year, 323 payment terminals have been installed at such points.

In May, the average daily number of transactions in the bank’s trading terminals amounted to 1.3 million per day, — says Nikolai Bilan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the RNCB. — We predict an increase in this indicator in the summer months. In the network of payment terminals of RNCB, you can use cards of all Russian banks, and guests of the peninsula actively use the opportunity to pay by bank transfer.

Recall that since February 2023, customers of RNKB, VTB and Otkritie can deposit and withdraw cash without commission at ATMs of all three credit institutions thanks to the unification of ATM networks. The total number of ATMs available to customers is about 20,000. At the same time, limits on cash withdrawals and replenishment of card accounts will depend on the tariff plan established by the card issuing bank.
