On the evening of October 28, a lunar eclipse can be observed in Crimea
CrimeaPRESS reports:
On October 28, a partial lunar eclipse will occur, which can be observed, including from Crimea. Residents and guests of the peninsula are invited to look at this phenomenon through a telescope. The observation point will be deployed near the famous Crimean Astrophysical Observatory in the village of Nauchny, Bakhchisarai region, reported Crimea travel portal observatory employee Sergei Nazarov.
On this day, the Moon will be partially immersed in the Earth’s shadow. The eclipse will begin at 21:35 Moscow time, reach its peak at 22:14, and end at 22:52. It can be observed on all continents of the Earth, including its fragments in the visibility zone of guests and residents of the peninsula.
The eclipse phase is small, about 10%. But, since no remarkable eclipses visible from the territory of Russia are expected in the next three years, the current one is worth watching,” noted Sergei Nazarov.
In Crimea, an observation platform for everyone will be located near the astronomers’ village — Nauchny. You can see the phenomenon through a telescope for free, but everyone can support the development of astronomy with a charitable contribution. The funds will be used to restore the unique Synthesis telescope with a half-century history, which was mothballed at the Crimean Observatory for many years.
All questions can be asked by phone: +7 978 847 29 47. Event time: from 22:00 to midnight. Observation location: Bakhchisarai district, near the village of Nauchny, before the entrance to the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory (at the “Nauchny” road sign).
