Oncological clinic of Sevastopol celebrates its anniversary

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The Sevastopol Oncology Center named after A. A. Zadorozhny currently employs 313 employees, including 63 doctors. More than 120 patients are admitted per shift; the hospital has 79 round-the-clock beds and 76 day hospital beds. Every year, doctors perform more than 1,700 operations in surgical departments. Last year, over 2 thousand people received treatment at a day hospital.

Today our oncology clinic has the most modern equipment, but the main thing is still the dedication of the medical staff to their work, patience and attention to patients— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the director of the health department Vitaly Denisov.

Oncological clinic of Sevastopol celebrates its anniversary

Every year, the institution is equipped with new equipment: a mammograph with tomosynthesis, a robotic therapeutic system, a device for close-focus X-ray therapy of malignant skin tumors, a modern angigraph, and an operating microscope for working in anatomically complex areas.

The main capital of a hospital is not equipment, hardware or machinery. The main capital of a hospital is always its specialists. And, fortunately, this is the case with us. We have brilliant specialists, they have good tools. We have brilliant, warm-hearted nursing staff who care for the sick. Young people have reached out to us. We have young doctors who learn from more experienced ones. We have a very good teamemphasizes the chief physician of the Sevastopol Oncology Center Vasily Oshchepkov.

The work of each doctor is aimed at quick, accurate diagnosis, while they constantly improve their skills: they study in courses that are conducted at research institutes and in various federal centers, both face-to-face and via telecommunications. The nearest plans for the development of oncology services include the creation of an oncology center in the city.
