Only 3 out of 10 Crimeans who were offered to hand over biometric data agree to hand them over
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Crimeans are still in no hurry to submit biometric data: only 30% of those who received such an offer agreed. Representatives of the economically active population took part in the survey of the SuperJob search service for highly paid jobs.
Very soon, it will be possible to pay for small purchases and travel in public transport using biometrics. However, few will be able to do this: at the moment, 10% of Crimeans have received an offer to submit biometric data (not related to the issuance of passports and visas), only 30% of respondents agreed. They justify their decision with security considerations (“This is an additional degree of protection for the bank”), as well as the desire to enjoy all the benefits of modern technologies in the near future. Every second refused (49%): in their opinion, the safety of information is by no means guaranteed, and the consequences of data leakage can create serious problems. Another 21% are still thinking about the answer— noted in the press service of the service.
Men face requests for biometric data more often than women (14% versus 7%, respectively). However, men are more likely to oppose such proposals (55% versus 42% among women).
