Operation Anaconda. The sale of a potent synthetic drug was stopped in Crimea
CrimeaPRESS reports:
And on a large scale.
Employees of a separate specialized battalion of traffic police of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea, while serving as part of Operation Anaconda, on the route of patrolling the streets of the city of Simferopol, noticed a young man who, at the sight of the police, became noticeably nervous. Inspectors stopped the pedestrian to check his documents. When asked if he had any prohibited substances on him, the young man answered… in the affirmative. He explained that the belt bag he was wearing contained drugs that he had previously purchased through an Internet site for the purpose of selling through stashes in the city.
Police officers called an investigative team to the scene, which documented the fact that the young man voluntarily gave out synthetic drugs. The attacker turned out to be a 20-year-old citizen of one of the states in Central Asia. The seized substance was sent for examination, according to the results of which it was recognized as the synthetic narcotic drug “mephedrone” with a total weight of 95 grams. As a result of a search conducted by operatives at the attacker’s place of residence, police found scales, a measuring spoon and packaging material in the form of zip bags— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
Thanks to the professional and timely actions of police officers, about 500 single doses did not reach potential consumers.
A criminal case was initiated against the person detained by the investigation of OP No. 2 “Kyiv” of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Simferopol on the grounds of a crime under Part 4 of Art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to the sanction of the article, the young man may face a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to 20 years. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the attacker. Further operational and investigative actions are being carried out aimed at identifying other persons involved in drug trafficking.
