Tonight and Saturday night, employees of the State traffic inspectorate of Sevastopol will hold a preventive event «Night City». As specified in the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, the operation is aimed at stabilizing the traffic situation and preventing offenses. The police will pay special attention to drivers in a state of intoxication while driving.
The event will involve employees of all departments of the State Traffic Inspectorate of Sevastopol. Crews will work not only on the main city highways, but also in remote areas— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.
It should be noted that since the beginning of the year, 527 drivers in a state of intoxication have been identified on the roads of the city, 61 of whom drove a vehicle in a state of intoxication repeatedly during the year, for which criminal liability is provided.
The State Traffic Inspectorate recalls that if a medical examination is refused, as well as when driving while intoxicated, the driver faces an administrative fine of thirty thousand rubles with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of one and a half to two years. In the repeated case of driving while intoxicated, the driver faces criminal liability under Article 264 note 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, for which a fine of 200 to 300 thousand rubles is provided, or imprisonment for up to two years.
