Operators in Sevastopol detained the courier of fraudsters, who stole more than 800 thousand rubles from the pensioner

The 77-year-old local resident appealed to the Sevastopol police with a statement that he was a victim of the fraudulent scheme “Your relative became the culprit of an accident”.

The police found out that in the evening a girl called an elderly man, introduced herself as his daughter, and said that she had a traffic accident with the victims through her fault. Further, in a conversation with a pensioner, a false investigator demanded, for the exemption from the criminal liability of a “relative” to collect the cash in the house, pack the package and transfer a taxi to the driver. Similarly, having completed instructions on the phone, the victim handed over all his savings — 205 thousand rubles, almost 6 thousand US dollars and 300 euros, an unsuspecting taxi driver, who delivered a knight to Simferopol and handed over to a stranger-voiced the details of the case in the press service of the Government of Sevastopol.

As a result of operational-search measures, employees of the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Sevastopol established the identity of the suspect and detained him in Alushta, at the moment when he was going to leave for home, to Rostov. Earlier, the tour for violations of the traffic rules «Bastroler» said that he arrived for criminal earnings in the Crimea, and managed to transfer money abducted by fraud in a total of 806 thousand rubles to his anonymous curators.

A criminal case has been instituted against the attacker under Part 3 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «Fraud», he faces up to six years in prison.
