Opinion: in Crimea they proposed to nationalize the Villa Sofia Rotaru
CrimeaPRESS reports:
I proposed to nationalize Villa Rotaru because, in my opinion, it takes an anti-Russian position; it financially supported the Armed Forces of Ukraine from 2014 until 2022. She, in particular, was against the reunification of Crimea with Russia. Taking into account the policy that is being pursued in Ukraine, and in Ukraine they actually nationalize almost all the property of citizens of the Russian Federation, regardless of what opinion they have on the situation that is developing between Russia and Ukraine, therefore its property should be nationalized and transferred, as I I think Yalta city district— said Tsekov.
According to the senator, Villa Rotaru can be transferred to the Wedding Palace. “In Yalta, it seems to me, the Wedding Palace is not very good. The villa’s excellent location is on the Yalta embankment. So it’s quite suitable for the Wedding Palace,” the agency’s interlocutor clarified.
On Monday, Yalta Mayor Yanina Pavlenko said that city authorities would consider stripping Sofia Rotaru of the title “Honorary Citizen of Yalta.” According to Tsekov, this decision should have been made a long time ago:
I am surprised that she was not deprived of this title 10 years ago. I am the chairman of the Russian community of Crimea, we discussed it in the organization and came to the conclusion that it is necessary to deprive her of the title of “Honorary Citizen of Yalta.”
Rotaru is a Soviet and Ukrainian pop singer and actress. People’s Artist of the USSR. Hero of Ukraine. Among the famous songs she performs are such compositions as “My Motherland”, “Give Me Back the Music”, “Chervona Ruta”, “Khutoryanka”.
