«Othello» from Sevastopol is accused of attempted murder
CrimeaPRESS reports:
What does jealousy drive?
Investigators have charged a 31-year-old resident of Sevastopol with the attempted murder of a Yalta resident (Part 3, Article 30, Part 1, Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The man was pushed to commit a crime… by jealousy.
The investigative department for the city of Yalta established that a resident of Sevastopol ambushed his friend, of whom he was jealous of his wife, near a house in the village of Massandra, poured a pre-prepared flammable liquid on him, then stabbed him in the body and disappeared. The victim independently extinguished the flames in a local river and turned to neighbors to call doctors. Due to burns to the face, neck, arms and body, as well as a stab wound in the lumbar region, the victim is currently receiving the necessary inpatient medical care— reported in Sledkom.
At the scene of the incident, investigators seized samples of flammable liquid and other objects. The person involved in interaction with employees of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Crimea was promptly detained.
At the request of the investigator, the attacker was taken into custody. Investigative actions aimed at collecting and consolidating the evidence base are ongoing.
