Nikolai Dmitriv, head of the city’s veterinary department, spoke about the main tasks of the Sevastopol veterinary service, preventing outbreaks of infectious diseases and taking anti-epizootic measures live. Work is being carried out in relation to not only domestic, but also wild animals. This week is the end of the roll out of the oral rabies vaccine. Briquettes are laid out in the forest, which the animal eats and is thus vaccinated.
More than thousand of these vaccine doses have been decomposed. There are improvements: we are analyzing the rabies situation. Last year, 5 cases of infection were recorded, this year it has not been recorded , — said Nikolay Dmitriev.
