CrimeaPRESS reports:

More than 900 million rubles will be allocated until 2026 inclusive for the construction of port infrastructure facilities in Crimea and Sevastopol, he said TASS Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Southern Federal District Vladimir Ustinov.

In accordance with the instructions of the head of state for the development of sea port infrastructure, within the framework of the state program, funds in the amount of more than 900 million rubles have been allocated for the implementation of measures for the construction of port infrastructure facilities in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol for 2024-2026. Within the framework of the federal project “Development of Sea Ports”, measures are envisaged to modernize and expand the main infrastructuresaid the agency’s interlocutor.

To reduce the financial burden, the property of the Kerch and Feodosia trade ports, the Kerch ferry crossing, and the Sevastopol sea port were transferred to federal ownership. The Yalta and Yevpatoriya trade ports remained in the ownership of Crimea. At the end of 2023, the ports of Crimea processed about 2 million tons of cargo, transported over 5.8 million passengers, 235 thousand units of vehicles, and about 30 thousand units of railway cars.

As Ustinov noted, the region’s potential as a transit Black Sea territory is in demand and has every reason to grow.
