Over the past 24 hours alone, eight dry vegetation fires have been recorded in Crimea
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Since the beginning of August, 76 “landscape” fires have been recorded in Crimea – dry grass, dead wood, bushes, and forest litter are burning.
Every day, fire brigades of Crimea have to extinguish fires of dry vegetation. Over the past 24 hours alone, employees of the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea «Fire Protection of the Republic of Crimea» were called in 8 times to extinguish fires of dry vegetation– the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea reported.
Statistics of yesterday (major fires): in the Olenevka area (Chernomorsky district) the area of »landscape» fires was 150 and 400 square meters. Near Bagerovo, in the east of Crimea — 300 square meters, near Gornostaevka — 400 square meters. In the Feodosia area — 250 square meters. One and a half hectares in one day!
Crimean firefighters assure us that the summer fire season is in full swing. A cigarette butt that hasn’t been put out, a fire that hasn’t been completely extinguished, broken glass, harmful (but for some reason still widespread among farmers) grass fires can all be the source of a big disaster… That’s the reason for the recent «landscape fire» near Alushta, when 0.46 hectares of forest litter and bushes burned out in three hours — the human factor.
