The area of walnut orchards in the Crimea is gradually increasing. Now it occupies more than two thousand hectares. On the fourth part of this area, the trees are already bearing fruit. The state provides state support in this direction too. Of these 2,000 hectares of walnut orchards, 1,500 hectares have been planted thanks to just such state assistance. This year, for example, 16 of our horticultural enterprises received more than 36 million rubles to plant 376 hectares of perennial walnut, hazelnut and almond orchards.— quotes the press service of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea Andrei Savchuk.
According to the minister, agricultural producers of the republic plan to harvest almonds, walnuts and hazelnuts from an area of 446 hectares this year. This area is slightly larger than last year. Recall that in 2022, farmers harvested 1,000 tons of walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts from 414 hectares.
