On the territory of the Republic of Crimea, a large number of fires of dry vegetation are still recorded. Just last week, units of the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea “Fire Protection of the Republic of Crimea” were involved more than 30 times to eliminate fires in the natural environment. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea draws the attention of citizens: for a long time, class IV and V fire danger has been maintained on the peninsula. Under these conditions, there is a possibility of incidents associated with landscape and forest fires, fires in the area of ​​lakes (reed thickets), and the identification of isolated sources of natural fires in the territory of the Republic of Crimea. The cause of such incidents is most often unauthorized burning of dry vegetation and careless handling of fire.

So, for example, yesterday, at 16:55, the operational console of the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea “Fire Protection of the Republic of Crimea” received a signal about a fire in the area of ​​the village. Upon arrival, it became known that dry vegetation was burning in the open area. There is a threat of fire spreading to the populated area. Firefighters fired barrel “B” and, using firecrackers and Ermak backpacks, localized and extinguished the fire within an hour and a half. The fire area was 500 square meters. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, extinguishing was complicated by the difficult terrain and strong gusty winds, which changed its direction and contributed to the spread of the fire. Thanks to the prompt actions of the Crimean firefighters, it was possible to avoid the “transition” of fire. There were no casualties. Experts find out the reasons,” noted the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in Crimea.

Also, over the past 24 hours, fire fighters from PCH Bagerovo and PCH Voykovo, and the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea “Fire Service of the Republic of Crimea” were involved in extinguishing fires in dry vegetation.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea reminds residents and guests of the peninsula that according to the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Crimean Department of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring”, On September 19-22, extreme fire danger will remain in the western, southern, central regions of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol; extreme fire danger is expected in the eastern regions.
