An increase in fires of dry vegetation is being recorded across the republic. Over the past weekend alone, employees of the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea “Fire Protection of the Republic of Crimea” were called in 12 times to extinguish landscape fires.
Fires of dry vegetation were extinguished in the Kirov, Krasnogvardeisky, Simferopol, Bakhchisarai, Nizhnegorsky, Leninsky, Razdolnensky and Pervomaisky districts. The reason for this increase in fires is dry, hot weather and the negligence of citizens. In such fires, the flame can quickly spread to residential buildings and damage infrastructure, so citizens should pay special attention to compliance with fire safety rules,” noted the department’s press service.

When extinguishing the fire, ERMAK fire-fighting backpacks were additionally used. There were no casualties. The reasons are being established.

In this regard, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea strongly recommends that citizens follow the fire safety rules:

- burn garbage and leaves only in a specially designated place away from forests, fences, buildings and residential buildings.
